Akis Temperidis and Vula Netou left their everyday lives behind to pursue a project that seemed impossible: to drive around the world.
They called it The World Off Road.
On the roof of their Land Rover was a Maggiolina® Extreme. Not simply a piece of travel equipment, but something that, day after day, would become their home.

For more than three years, they crossed deserts, mountains, trails and some of the most remote roads on the planet.
From the Sahara to the Kalahari and Namib. From the Australian Outback to the Atacama. From the Karakoram and the high altitudes of Ladakh to Route 66 and the vast landscapes of Patagonia.
A journey around the world. A Maggiolina and a Land Rover always with them.
MORE THAN 700 NIGHTS. ONE HOME.
For more than 700 nights, Akis and Vula slept in their Maggiolina®.
Nights in the desert. Nights in African villages. Nights in the heart of great cities. The heat of Pakistan, with temperatures reaching 37 °C, and the freezing cold of Tierra del Fuego, down to –10 °C.
In Patagonia, the tent faced winds of up to 120 km/h. In Australia, relentless sun and extreme temperatures. Thousands of openings and closings, day after day, continent after continent.
Not a laboratory test.
Not content created to gain followers.

At the end of their journey, Akis and Vula did not talk about Maggiolina as an accessory.
They simply called it their home.
“Our Land Rover was our third companion around the world.

THE GESTURE THAT MADE MAGGIOLINA® AN ICON.
Some gestures become part of the journey. Turning the Maggiolina® crank handle is one of them: a simple action backed by a precise engineering choice. The crank operates the pantograph mechanism, allowing the roof to rise in a controlled way while tensioning the fabric walls. Even after years of use, the tension can be adjusted during opening with an additional turn of the crank. The result can be seen and felt: taut walls, a roof supported by a solid structure, and a reassuring sense of protection when, after a long day on the road, it is finally time to stop.
